Ground Floor Extension and Conversion in Egham, Surrey

As with all our projects, we began by visiting the property, taking note of its current design and layout, and talking to the homeowners about the changes they had in mind. We teamed up with them and trusted third-party architects to draw up plans for the revamped property, as well as determine the necessary budget and timeline. Once the couple signed off on our estimate, we got straight to work. 

We started by tearing down the old conservatory to make room for the new extension. Next, we built the new extension and expanded the garage, getting it ready for the upcoming conversion. Here’s an overview of how the changes turned out: 

• The new rear extension blended seamlessly into the main area of the house, as there were no doors separating the two. It served as a contemporary living space connected to the recently renovated and modernised kitchen. It also featured a large bifold door that opened into the garden, and an overhead skylight that flooded the space with plenty of natural light. 

• After we expanded the garage, we decided to split it into two areas with a wall. We then converted the new space into both a study and a utility room. In the utility room, we installed clean white counters and cupboards that perfectly matched those in the kitchen, giving the home a neat and cohesive look. For the study, we made sure to set it up with full internet and electricity connectivity to create a conducive environment for work. 

• As we worked on extending and converting the space, we also installed a new bathroom on the ground floor, an ensuite with a walk-in shower, and full underfloor heating. 

We successfully completed the project in December 2022, keeping things on track within the agreed-upon time and budget. The revamped home now offers Lucy and Tom a more comfortable, accessible space to live for the years to come.
